Investing in climate and nature solutions
In addition to managing climate and nature-related risks and opportunities across its investment portfolio, Bregal launched a dedicated impact strategy in 2022 with the intention to generate positive, measurable social and environmental impact alongside financial return.
Bregal Sphere invests in mission-driven companies and Nature-based Solutions (“NbS”) projects that help preserve and restore ecosystems, combat climate change and biodiversity decline, and enhance local livelihoods in a holistic fashion. Bregal Sphere Nature, a decided natural capital strategy, focuses on investments in high-quality NbS projects within agricultural supply chains and reforestation projects in adjacent landscapes.

Bregal’s Sustainable Development Financing (“SDF”) program is a €50 million capital pool that provides loans on attractive terms to existing portfolio companies to invest in projects with positive sustainability outcomes.
